Sr. Immigration Specialist
Provides support for the company’s immigration management processes and compliance activities for employees to obtain work authorization, travel visas permanent residency, if applicable, and work authorization for candidates and other immigration needs. Coordinates immigration cases with outside legal service providers.
Consults with managers, human resources generalists, employees and candidates regarding the company’s visa and immigration processes and policies; advises employees regarding travel restrictions and general direction related to the visa application process.
Initiates and manages immigration cases with outside legal service providers to ensure compliance, optimal processing timelines, and maximum efficiency; makes decisions related to the most effective course of action to take to address employee and business needs based on immigration provider input.
Coordinates the immigration documentation collection and submission processes with employees and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective processing.
Provides support and expertise to relevant stakeholders to resolve immigration issues; provides information to employees regarding embassy interviews and processes.
Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as human resources, recruiting, and business leaders and partners with immigration services providers to achieve effective process and service delivery, interfaces with advertising agencies and other outside service providers as appropriate.
Leads the invoicing process for legal and related services; tracks fulfillments as required by the company and/or legal service providers.
Maintains internal compliance documentation as required for immigration/visa purposes; manages immigration service provider compliance reporting.
Coordinates and manages special projects as required in the area of immigration and visa processing for compliance and internal improvement purposes.
We are looking for a talented Senior Immigration Specialist to join our team specializing in Human Resources for our Cummins Business Services in Hybrid to Nashville, TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Handle non-immigrant visa processing, H-1b, L1, and other categories of visa processing
Will respond to all foreign national employees question, and to handle all immigration requests
To work as the expert in US Immigration Services under the Global Mobility Team
Work to handle all compliance and governmental adherence on US Immigration related issues and concerns
Partnering with other internal teams such as HR & Recruiting to handle any immigration concerns that may arise
Work with Global Mobility Team to address the issues that may arise in the handling of international candidates and employees
Human Resources Data Management - Acts on people data to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with company policy and legislative requirements.

Compensation and Benefits Administration - Administers policies following Cummins plan design to ensure accurate and consistent application of Cummins policies in order to make and communicate appropriate compensation and benefits decisions; complies with local legislative and tax requirements to ensure Cummins policies meet governance and legislative requirements.
Mobility Administration - Implements and administrates operational processes to ensure the seamless movement of talent in alignment with applicable policies, taxation, immigration laws, global cash payroll, local legislation and internal controls procedures.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
Coordinate regular learning sessions, including webinars, ad-hoc immigration updates/communications for our foreign national population, management, HR partners, Recruiting/Talent Management team members for continued education, understanding and compliance
Create and maintain Public Access and PERM labor certification files
Coordinate immigration related posting notices (LCAs/PERM)
Provide I-9 guidance to employees, HR team members and other stakeholders
Provide assistance with government site visits, Requests for Evidence and Immigration related auditsTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
University or College degree in Human Relations or related field is highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years working in Immigration Services or related field is high preferred
Must have high degree of understanding of US Immigration processes
Prior experience with US Immigration Services, specifically non-immigrant, and the “Green Card” processes is highly desirable
