Fleet Safety and Compliance Analyst - Western US (Hybrid)


Administers one or more elements of the Fleet Management program within the assigned area of responsibility. Assists in the resolution of issues for internal and external stakeholders. Produces required reports, tracks metrics and reports out as required. May be responsible for supporting budget planning and execution within budget limits. Supports Fleet Management projects and continuous improvement activity as necessary.

Guides and assists internal and external stakeholders with execution of the Fleet Management program within the assigned area of responsibility. Investigates issues and leads problem resolution activity to ensure stakeholder satisfaction. Acts as a contact between internal stakeholders and external service providers. Provides constructive feedback to Fleet Managers & Directors on continuous improvement opportunities. Participates as a team member when required for defined projects related to Fleet Management business processes and/or policies. Maintains required performance metrics and periodic reports as necessary. Conducts analysis within the assigned area of responsibility to evaluate Fleet Management program effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Assists with budget planning, tracking, research and analysis. Responsible for executing the program within budget parameters. Assists in deployment and training for new or updated Fleet Management programs within the assigned area of responsibility.

We are looking for a talented Fleet Safety and Compliance Analyst (Western US) to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Columbus, IN / your remotely home office within the USA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • This position will be key in ensuring that fundamental safety and compliance requirements are being met both at the Driver and Branch level

  • As a part of a team this position will help to assure that every vehicle that Cummins is operating is within compliance, and that every operator running a vehicle is also within compliance

  • Help branches to manage any issue that may arise when something is not operating within compliance standards

  • Act as a resource to the different branches within the assigned region, to help sort out any compliance & operating standards while guiding them whenever needed to resolve any issues that may arise to make sure all parties are compliant

  • Work within the Cummins driver database to proactively makes sure that all drivers records are compliant and up to date. They will additionally manage any issues that may need action such as updating driver records

  • Help aid in the updating the backlogged driver records, to bring those records up to date

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university or equivalent degree or significant relevant experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


Minimal experience required unless post secondary education requirement is not met.

The candidate selected for this will be primarily responsible for:

  1. Maintaining driver qualification files for all commercial drivers in the United States across multiple business units

  2. Coaching branches to improve compliance in US Hours of Service and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)

  3. Working with internal stakeholders to identify high risk driver behavior and support driver safety initiatives

  4. Supporting the Cummins DER in managing the random Drug and Alcohol program for Cummins on an as needed basis

  5. Being involved in internal/external auditing processes related to Fleet Compliance

  6. Attending various team meetings, leading meetings with internal stakeholders, various statistical reporting projects, etc.

  7. Building and maintaining strong connections with internal stakeholders to achieve goals and support business activities

  8. Other fleet safety and compliance duties as required

This role is a data driven role and requires experience with different software systems, ability to work with multiple internal/external databases to retrieve data, strong organizational skills and habits, and high attention to detail. In-depth knowledge of US FMCSA/DOT regulations would be an asset. Work location is flexible within US but would prefer Western US.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Must have at a minimum a High School diploma or related certification

  • Ideal Candidate would be located within the Western USA region

  • Must have previous experience working with multiple different data bases and strong working knowledge of Excel

  • Must have a strong track record of being a great communicator in an effective and concise manner

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
