About the role:

In this highly collaborative role, you will be building Trade Union relationships, working closely with Plant and Site Managers, as well as coaching and supporting your HR colleagues. Through a combined understanding of business requirements and the employment landscape you will shape our ER strategies and policies. You will also be:

  • Managing the contract negotiations preparation process and participating in negotiations.

  • Participating in collective bargaining negotiation preparation process including terms and cost analysis; with legal counsel, participates in the collective bargaining process.

  • In complex cases mediating workplace conflicts and preparing disciplinary actions, grievances, and arbitration.

  • Maintaining an understanding of local and national employment legislation matters.

  • Understands business strategies and initiatives, such as safety, security, and productivity, to act as a resource for management and line human resources regarding employee relations.

In this hybrid role you will be based near one of our main sites, Darlington, Huddersfield or Daventry.

Qualifications

About you:

As a natural long-term relationship builder, you will enjoy working closely with all partners, colleagues and senior management. With HR Generalist or ER specific experience within a similar dynamic stakeholder and reporting line structure you will also have:

  • Leadership experience within Employee Relations, working with external Union employees, negotiation, strike action, interpreting and implementing collectively bargained agreements.

  • A college, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or along with CiPD qualifications.

  • Good self-awareness, using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and weaknesses, and a desire for personal development.

  • The ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Joining us at this exciting time you will be rewarded with:

  • £70,000 to £80,000, depending on experience
